About This Tool & Technical Logic
The counter tokenizes as you type and reports words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences, and paragraphs, plus estimated reading and speaking time at standard rates (200 and 130 words per minute).
Readability uses the Flesch Reading-Ease formula: 206.835 β 1.015 Γ (words/sentences) β 84.6 Γ (syllables/words). Scores run 0β100; higher is easier. Grade-level interpretation follows the standard Flesch bands from "very difficult" (college+) to "very easy" (5th grade).
Flesch = 206.835 β 1.015Β·(words/sentences) β 84.6Β·(syllables/words); syllables estimated by vowel-group counting per word.
