About This Tool & Technical Logic

The counter tokenizes as you type and reports words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences, and paragraphs, plus estimated reading and speaking time at standard rates (200 and 130 words per minute).

Readability uses the Flesch Reading-Ease formula: 206.835 βˆ’ 1.015 Γ— (words/sentences) βˆ’ 84.6 Γ— (syllables/words). Scores run 0–100; higher is easier. Grade-level interpretation follows the standard Flesch bands from "very difficult" (college+) to "very easy" (5th grade).

Flesch = 206.835 βˆ’ 1.015Β·(words/sentences) βˆ’ 84.6Β·(syllables/words); syllables estimated by vowel-group counting per word.
